Larry Keith Vaught, aged 81, of the Spruce Run Community in Newport passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Blacksburg, Virginia. Born on July 24, 1943, in Virginia, he was a man of unwavering spirit and joy, who lived his life with a zest that was contagious to all who knew him.

Larry graduated from Newport High School, where he began shaping his future with a steadfast work ethic and a keen eye for detail. His career spanned over five decades as a supervisor for Poly Scientific (MOOG), where he was respected for his leadership and dedication. His colleagues admired him for his integrity and commitment, and his retirement left a void that was deeply felt within the company.

Beyond his professional achievements, Larry's passions painted the picture of a life rich with enthusiasm and vigor. He had an enduring love for all things fast, from old cars to motorcycles. His heart raced for stylish cars and he found great joy in restoring them to their former glory. A member of the Pit Crew for his brother's racing team, Larry thrived in the excitement and camaraderie that came with the roar of engines and the smell of motor oil. The freedom he gained from the riding his motorcycle was truly unconquerable.

Larry's competitive spirit was not confined to the race track. He was an avid sportsman, playing softball, bowling, and golfing with a playful yet determined approach. His love for playing cards was matched only by his desire to win, making game nights with Larry an unforgettable experience.

His home was his sanctuary, and his garden was a testament to his patience and care. Larry took pride in keeping his yard in excellent condition, a reflection of his meticulous nature and the personal satisfaction he derived from a job well done.

Family was the cornerstone of Larry's life. He leaves behind his loving sisters, Eleanor Link, Phyllis Sparks, and Joyce Kessinger (Darrell), as well as his cherished sisters-in-law, Mary Vaught and Ella Vaught.
