Larry Spicer, a cherished soul known for his unwavering strength and kind heart, passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on November 18, 2024, in Pembroke, Virginia. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on July 29, 1959, and grew up in Narrows with family and friends.
Larry's journey began as a son to the late Arnold Spicer and Edith Stafford, growing up in a family rich with love and tradition. He was the steadfast brother to Donna Owens (Anthony), Barry Spicer, Gary Spicer, and Terry Spicer, sharing in the Spicer family's joys and challenges. His early years were also shaped by the memories of his grandparents, William "Buck" Spicer, Eracell Spicer, Emory Stafford, and Juanita and Richard Saulnier, who predeceased him.
In the heart of Larry, a profound love blossomed for his beloved wife, Carrie Viars Spicer. Larry's legacy continued through his proud children, Jeremy Spicer (Olivia Bane) and Chelsy Triplett (Joe), who will forever cherish his guidance and wisdom. His four grandchildren will carry forward the sparkle of mischief and tenderness that Larry held in his eyes for each of them.
Throughout his life, Larry was a man of the land and took great pleasure in the simplicity and beauty of nature. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passion for coon hunting, deer hunting, and fishing provided not just recreation, but a deep connection to the earth and the cycles of life. These interests were not just hobbies but were integral parts of his identity that he shared with friends and family alike. As we remember Larry Spicer, we hold tight to the memories of his infectious laugh, the twinkle in his eye, and the stories he shared. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Poff officiating. Funeral Services will conclude in Angels Rest Memorial Gardens in Narrows, Virginia where he will be laid to rest.
