Laura Lee Pruett Reed

LAURA PRUETT REED, 66, of Bland, VA, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born in Pearisburg, VA, on December 30, 1956, the daughter of the late Myron Carson & Virgie Lucille Surratt Pruett.

Laura was a past member of Narrows First Christian Church. She was a graduate of the Narrows High School Class of 1975. She enjoyed getting to know her students as a substitute teacher at Bland Schools. She loved all flowers and was happiest being on her farm. She enjoyed posting encouraging posts on Facebook. She loved her family, especially her granddaughters, and will be greatly missed by those who loved her. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Jeffrey L. Reed; her sons, John Ethan Reed and Jacob Ian Reed; her granddaughters, Kaylin Mae Reed and Leanna Grace Reed; her brothers & sisters-in-law, David & Melissa Pruett and Rick & Sandy Pruett;  many special pets; and several extended family members and special friends.

Per her wishes, Laura will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, from 5:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
