Laura Pendleton Ferguson

Laura Pendleton Ferguson, 96, of Ferrum, Virginia passed away peacefully at home, Friday, May 16, 2025. She was born in Woolwine, Virginia, July 17, 1928, to Buren Clyde Pendleton and Dorothy Boyd Pendleton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Violet Lyon, Vivian Carter, Lora Wall, Nannie Lou Kessler and Carrie Lee Young.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Foley (Chester) and Judy Ferguson; granddaughter, Jessica Pendleton (Andy); great grandchildren, Kylee and Aiden; and one sister, Thelma Young.

Laura worked at Dupont for several years. She then began work at Ferrum Elementary School in the cafeteria until she retired.

Laura was a member of Ferrum Church of the Brethren. She was an active member who enjoyed quilting and participating in all church events. In her spare time she enjoyed cracking walnuts, doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches. She enjoyed working in the yard and being outside.

Special thanks to Dolly Green for always being able to help out when needed. The family would also like to thank hospice for taking such good care of her.

A graveside service will be held at the Boyd Family Cemetery, 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2025 with Pastor Ray Bayse officiating. Her family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
