Lawrence Ray Bandy

Lawrence Ray Bandy, age 66, of Newport, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 28, 1958 in Roanoke, Virginia, Lawrence was the son of the late Donald and Joyce Payne Bandy, Lawrence was a cherished son, brother, father, uncle, and companion.

Lawrence had a passion for the simple pleasures in life, including playing his guitar and spending quiet days fishing. His love for music and the outdoors was only matched by the love he had for his family. Lawrence's kind spirit and gentle nature were evident to all who knew him, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of many.

He is survived by his loving children, Travis Bandy and McKenzie Kenny, who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his devoted brother, Lester Nunley, and David Nunley, as well as his caring sister, Jenny Robertson, all of whom will miss his compassionate presence and steadfast companionship.

Lawrence found love and companionship with Lisa Collins, who, along with her family, brought joy and laughter into his life. Their shared moments and adventures brought him immense happiness and comfort in his later years. His nephew, Caleb Cress, will fondly remember his uncle's wisdom and the memorable times they spent together.

Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joyce Payne Bandy, and his sister, Vicky Valentino, Lawrence is now reunited with them in eternal peace. His departure leaves a void in the fabric of his family, but the memories they created will be treasured forever.
