Lee Holland Crews

Lee Holland Crews, 87, passed to his eternal home on May 13, 2023. He was born on August 14, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Mamie Creasy Crews and the late Swanson Lee Crews. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dean Logan Crews.
Holland was a member of Payneton Community Church and served in the U.S. Air Force from April 1957 to January 1962 (AFC 1st class). He worked for 28 years as a postal clerk for the U.S. Post Office in Chatham, VA and was a retired farmer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter; Sandra Pickeral (Gary) of Penhook, VA., sons; Jeff Crews (Connie), Larry Crews (Stacey) of Chatham, VA., brother; Billy Crews (Emily), grandchildren; Burt Pickeral (Brooke), Jason Pickeral, Jeffrey Crews (Allison), Cheryl Cockram (Dustin), Steven Crews (Rachel), Hunter Crews, Casey Crews, Haley Whitlow, Adam Crews, and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Holland was predeceased by his sister; Lois Barbour, brothers; Olando Crews, Oma Crews and Dewey Crews.

A funeral service will be held at Payneton Community Church on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 2:00PM with Pastor Allan T. Murphy officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Gretna American Legion Post #232 and Altavista American Legion Post 36.

A visitation will be held at Payneton Community Church prior to the service on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 12:30PM to 2:00PM. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence 21792 U.S. Hwy 29 Chatham, VA. 24531.
