Lena Dandridge Millner

Lena Dandridge Millner, 94, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Monday, September 4, 2023. She was born May 30, 1929 in Henry County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clem Dandridge and Nannie Hairston Dandridge. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend James E. Millner, whom she married September 21, 1946; three brothers, Jimmat, David, and Clem Dandridge; and two sisters, Rosa Bowe and Katherine Martin.Lena was a lifetime member of First Baptist East Martinsville Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and dearly loved her family.Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Linda Jones of Richmond, Dona Whitfield (Rev. Kirby) of Roanoke, and Ariel Millner of Martinsville; one son, James E. Millner (Jewell) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ida B. McCollum of Richmond; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Together Lena and James instilled in all their children the principles of God first, family values, hard work, honesty and loyalty.A visitation service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 1:30 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist East Martinsville, with Rev. Charles Whitfield, Eulogist.
