Leon Wiley Farris
Wiley’s great accomplishment was his loving family. He loved childern. He was known as "Papa Wiley" by many more than just family. He was a trucker and love the open road. The Virginia Sugar Foot was known country wide by fellow truckers.
He love the Waffle House and drinking his sugar with a splash of coffee.
Wiley will be missed. His loving spirit, humor and stories will live on in those who loved him and the beautiful memories he left us.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bettie Farris, and Brandard Farris.
Leon is survived by his children, Wiley Lee Farris, Holly Marie Farris, Jordan Farris, Carolyn Renee Wise (Shorty), Jason Gwinn (Shelana), and Christopher Gwinn (Elizabeth);grandchildren, Josh, Peyton, LeAndre, Kavahn, Mercedes, Montana, Ethan, Caleb, Jasper, Christopher, Killian, Aaron, and Addison; aunt, Betty Carper; and long time friend, Jim Jones.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Faith Wesleyan Church 4379 Alleghnay Drive Salem VA 24153, with Pastor Arlis Shelor officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
