Leonard David Gilley
Leonard “David” Gilley, age 68 of Martinsville, VA passed away on November 10, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after battling Colon Cancer.
David was born on July 12, 1957 to Malley Lee Gilley and Mildred Lorene Kidd Gilley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, April Murphy Hammock and his dog Buck.
David is survived by his only daughter, Mallory Leigh Gilley (Daniel Ward), and two siblings; sister, Judy Gilley Johnston (Dennis), brother, Roger Gilley, two nephews, Nathaniel and Matthew Gilley, great nephew, Terry Gilley as well as many loving friends and family.
David was a man of many trades and talents and was good at most everything he did. He worked in Construction and Welding most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, woodworking and drawing. He had a passion for music, especially classic rock, blues and country. He liked to cook and made the best steak and fried catfish you would ever eat. Above all , he loved spending time with his daughter, who was his pride and joy. He was known for his famous hat and overall combo, his sense of humor and willingness to help those in need.
