Leslie "Les" Ray Maxey

Leslie “Les” Ray Maxey, 68, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023. He was a son of the late James H. Maxey, Jr. and Mavis Simmons Maxey. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Emily Maxey Dearing and a brother, James “Jimmy” H. Maxey, III.Surviving are his sister, Becky Poindexter (Jay); nieces and nephews, Tim Poindexter, Dr. Matt Brewer and Rebekah and their four daughters, Samuel Poindexter and fiancé, Kaysee and his one son, Adam and Anna Bittle, and Todd and Dick Dearing; along with numerous other cousins and friends. The family would like to thank Jody and Kim Lescure and their sons for all the help and care they all gave to Les.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Bradley Free Clinic, 1240 3rd Street, SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24016.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke.
