Leslie Wayne Mahan

Leslie Wayne Mahan, age 82 passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Mahan was born April 13, 1941, in Pittsylvania County to the late Leslie G. Mahan and the late Edna Elizabeth Adkins Mahan. He was married to Judy Tate Mahan, of the residence for 52 years.

Mr. Mahan was well respected in the carpet industry, where he was vice president of sales at various locations, and he attended Fellowship Bible Church in Dalton, GA. before moving back to Chatham. He was active in the Recreation Department in Whitfield County, he enjoyed cooking for his family, and fellowship with his friends at Waffle House. He will always be remembered as a kindhearted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jill Mahan; his son, Wess Mahan; grandchildren Brooke Mahan; his sister, Judy M. Stickel (Don); his brother, Charlie V. Mahan (Shirley); his niece, Denise S. Walker (Johnnie); and his nephew, Anthony Mahan.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at Greenpond Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. R.G. Rowland officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Greenpond Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be receiving friends and family at the residence of his sister, Judy M. Stickel.
