Letha Christine Brubaker Milliron, age 96, of Rocky Mount, VA., was born on January 14, 1928, and passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Park Oak Grove Assisted Living in Roanoke, VA., her home for the past 13 years. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Roy Elbert Milliron; her parents, Alva and Edith Clingenpeel Brubaker; brothers, Dr. Herman Brubaker (Hazel, Betty), and Lowell Brubaker (Ivy Rose). She is survived by loving daughters, Marcia Flora (Jerrold) of Rocky Mount, VA., and Faye King (Tom) of Knoxville, TN.; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Kennedy of Roanoke, Bradley McCall of Rocky Mount, Brandon Flora of Roanoke, Kristin (Blake) Wenger of Harrisonburg, VA., Angela (Jason) Lowe of Maryville, TN., Alyssa (Scott) Atchley, and Amber (Travis) Gaskins, all of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Mitchell Kennedy, Bailey and Payton McCall, Wade and Gannon Wenger, Jackson and Molly Lowe, Grant and Charlotte Gaskins, Emma Kate and Ellie Atchley; nephews, Dr. Wally Brubaker (Susan), Don Brubaker (Gayle), Mike Brubaker (Debbie), and Jeff Brubaker (Sandy). She was a longtime and faithful member of Antioch Church of the Brethren, serving as the church pianist, assisting with children’s choirs, a member of the Joy Circle, and arranged flowers for worship for many years. She taught piano up until she moved to Roanoke, teaching many students in the Callaway community and surrounding areas. When she first started teaching, she rode the school bus with Marcia and Faye to Callaway Elementary and had a piano room there for private lessons. After that she taught piano in her home and dearly loved all of her students, with whom she shared her love of music. She lived her life with dignity and grace and brought joy to many simply with her beautiful smile. Her Christian faith was strong no matter what challenges she faced. Funeral services will be held at Antioch Church of the Brethren, Rocky Mount VA., 2 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, with Pastor Andy Duffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caring staff at Park Oak Grove for their compassionate care for Letha. She loved her home and her “family” there.
