Lewis Roscoe Divers

Lewis Roscoe Divers, 90, of Bedford passed away on October 1, 2023. He was born in Franklin County, on December 22, 1932. He was the son of the late Lewis Edgar Divers and the late Hessie Merriman Divers. Roscoe is survived by his wife of 72 years, Thelma Payne Divers; son, Robert E. Divers and wife Jacquelyn ; son, Larry D. Divers and wife Debbie; grandchildren, JoAnn F. Divers and Rene Pruneda, Alexander P Divers and Carmen B Divers, Eric T Divers and Kayla E Divers, Hollie R Borchardt and Brian Borchardt, Christopher M Robinson and Alyssa Robinson: great-grandchildren, Cayson , Walker, Stella , Anabella , Cody, Austin, Isabelle, Alouine, and Cora. Roscoe retired from Hooker Furniture Company in 1997. After his father’s death, Roscoe took over the family farm. Roscoe loved farm life and was active in the Southwestern Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Association. He loved to participate in Tractor Pulls and accumulated a large collection of tractor pull trophies. Visitation Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Lotz Funeral Home, in Vinton from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens 5737 Airport Road Roanoke, Virginia at 11:00am Friday, October 6, 2023 with Pastor Kevin Payne officiating.
