Lewis Wayne Ray

Lewis Wayne Ray, 59, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1965, in North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mallie Ray & Mary Patterson Ray; sister, Nancy Sumner; brothers, Roger Ray and Bennie Ray.

Lewis worked for many years as an HVAC service technician with McKinney’s Heating & Air, a job he took great pride in. His kindness didn’t end when the workday was over—Lewis was known for showing up whenever someone needed help, no questions asked. He had a generous spirit and a big heart, always ready to lend a hand. Outside of his professional life, Lewis found joy in fishing, golf, and the outdoors.

Lewis leaves behind the following family to cherish his memory: wife, Susan Cassell Ray; son, Justin Ray; brothers, Don Ray, Bill Ray (Betty Jo), Brian Wiggington (Pat), Andy Wiggington (Laurie), Marty Wiggington, and Blaine Craig (Ellie); sister-in-Law, Shirley Ray; Mary Cannaday; and beloved dog, Buddy. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville. The Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 PM.
