Liam Edison Hricik

October 21, 2022 - October 6, 2023

Liam “Bubba” Edison Hricik, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2023, at just 11 months old.

The name Liam literally means “strong-willed warrior,” and that’s exactly what he was. While he was known to give the “stink eye,” he was a happy child who smiled with his full face. He enjoyed putting a smile on other people’s faces as well – especially when he stuck his tongue out or fluttered his long, brown eyelashes.

Preceding him in death was a grandfather, Richard Edison Johns; and step-grandfather, Alan T. Hess.

His surviving family who will love him forever includes his parents, Paul M. Hricik and Missy Marie Johns; siblings, Elijah Ray Wallace and Crispin Carter Wallace; grandmothers, Mary W. Johns and Frances M. Hess; uncles, Chad E. Johns, Eric C. Johns and wife, Hannah G., and Alyx Beech; aunt, Cora M. Patriak; and many other extended family members.

The family wishes to thank the 7th floor staff members at UVA Medical Center for their excellent care and love; they are now family.

All are invited to celebrate Liam’s life on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, please consider charitable contributions to the Ronald McDonald House. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
