Lillian Carter

Lillian Hairston Carter, 76, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was born November 12, 1948, in Bassett, Virginia, to the late Conrad Hairston and Daisy Scott Hairston.

Lillian was a member and attended Shiloh Way of the Cross Church. She was a 1967 graduate of Carver High School and was a dedicated employee of Blue Ridge Nursing home for twenty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rissie Hairston; and her brothers, Jesse Hairston, Clemons Hairston and Dewey Hairston.

She is survived by her husband, James B. Carter; brother, James Hairston (Renay); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hairston, Deana Hairston, and Cherri Hairston.

There will be a graveside service Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Carver Memorial Gardens, 2256 Carver Road, Martinsville, Virginia with Bishop Earley Dillard and Elder Christopher Hairston officiating. A floating visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Family will be present from 4:00 – 5:00 PM.
