Lillian Martin Martin, 100, of Concord, died in her daughter’s home on November 8, 2023.  Born on November 7, 1923, in Appomattox County, Lillian was the eleventh child (of an eventual twelve) of Lillian Pearl Grow and Thomas Moore Martin.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Martin, and eleven siblings, Dorothy M. Martin, Eunice M. Martin, Allen Martin, and Virginia Drinkard all of Concord; Robert B. Martin, Lorene Morris, Thomas T. Martin, and Abner Martin all of Appomattox; Jean M. Tyree of Waynesboro, Charles (Jack) Martin of Lynchburg, and Charlene Moore of Richmond.  

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Parsons; son in law, Jack Parsons; three grandchildren, Neil Parsons, Kevin Parsons and his wife, Caroline, Lauren Knott and her husband, Daniel; four great grandchildren, Ryan Parsons, Coco Parsons, Lillian Knott, and Sylvie Parsons all of Richmond; as well as fifteen nieces and nephews, and a plethora of great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Lillian was a graduate of Appomattox High School and Philips Business College.  She worked as a telephone operator, the secretary/receptionist for a Lynchburg doctor, and retired as the switchboard operator from what is now Wells Fargo.  Mostly Lillian was a homemaker residing in her home in Concord for 66 years.  She loved her family, her home, and Trinity Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member.

A celebration of life service will be held at Trinity Methodist Church in Appomattox County at 11 am on November 11, 2023, with burial at Rebecca Cemetery. A reception to follow at Trinity.
