Lillie Creasy Dawson
Lillie Fae Creasy Dawson, 89, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023. She was born September 14, 1933, in Altavista, Virginia, to the late Albert Guston Creasy and Agnes Jane Keesee Creasy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Muril Dean Nunn; and brothers, Carl Gale Creasy, Albert Francis Creasy, and Jerry Creasy.She cared greatly about her education, graduated Holmes Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1956 with a bachelor’s in theology. In 1959 she graduated nursing school at Grace Hospital, Richmond, Virginia, then graduated from Bethany Bible School College with a Master of Theology and a Doctorate in Divinity. From 1964 to 1974 she served as a missionary in Lusaka, Zambia, and Salisbury or Harare, Zimbabwe. She taught Sunday school, women meetings, and bible school, and was trained as a midwife in Africa. She worked at Martinsville Memorial Hospital for 22 years before retiring. She loved her family, her Lord Jesus Christ, and church, and her faith was always strong. She made several trips to Africa; the last time they took her off the plane in a wheelchair. She was determined to do her thing and her thing was all about her Lord Jesus Christ. She set an example for her family that we will never forget.Lillie is survived by her husband, Allen McGuire Dawson; sons, Allan Dawson Jr., Anthony Guston Dawson, Dwain Eugene Dawson, and Zane Montgomery Dawson; sisters, Agnes Jane Barbour, Ada Mae Robinson, and Sarah Pickeral; brother, Paul Larry Creasy; grandchildren, Alex Dawson, Christian Dawson, Deanna Nichols, and Kayla Rea; and great-grandchildren, Karaline Dawson, Kayden Lyn Dawson, Allison Dawson, Axel Dawson, Kaylee, Tavius, Desiree, Hayden Nichols, and Sophie.The Graveside Service will be Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6658 Dews Rd.
