Linda Ann Philpott

Linda Ann Philpott, 81 of Ferrum, Virginia passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at her home. Her greatest joy in life was being a loving mother and grandmother. For more than 30 years, she worked as a school bus driver for Franklin County Schools safely carrying countless children to and from school each day.

She is preceded in death by her husband, T.C. Philpott; her son Tim Hale; her parents James and Gracie Hall; her brother Delbert Hall; her sisters Belvie Furrow and Mary Gillespie; her in-laws Junior and Lucinda Philpott.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen "Kay" Smith (Robert) and her son Todd Philpott Sr. (Lori); her seven grandchildren, Grace Altice (Ronnie), Jamie Hale (Chelsie), Heather Smith, Todd Philpott Jr. (Lacey), Nicole Heck (Benton), Kelly Smith and Emily Furrow; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Harrison Hall (Tina); sister, Sadie Crum; and her best friend Terri Simms. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 with Ronnie Altice officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.
