Linda Earles Maxwell
Linda Elizabeth Earles Maxwell, 82, of Axton, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025. She was born in Henry County, on February 8, 1943, to the late Lloyd Earles and Nannie Kate Pruitt Earles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “David” Maxwell; son, Kenneth Todd Hairfield; and sisters, Nancy Gregory, Sue Dickerson, Jean Gibson, Virginia Litman, and Mabel Kendall.
Linda attended Greenwood Baptist Church from childhood until her health declined. For many years, she and her husband co-owned and ran a successful business building in-ground pools for Martinsville Pool & Spa — a true partnership in both life and work. Together, they shared many adventures through their Antique Car Clubs, riding their motorcycles, and in the company of the family they cherished most.
Linda was the heart of her home—gracious, devoted, and steadfast in her love. A traditional woman in the best sense, she poured her care into her family. She had a deep love for travel, having explored much of the world, and especially enjoyed the relaxation of cruising the open seas. Those who knew Linda will remember her as a woman who loved deeply, lived fully, and found joy in every season of life.
Linda is survived by daughter, Robin Hairfield; brother, Loyd C. Earles (Nancy Lee); grandson, Anthony Capo; step-granddaughter, Leta Carroll; great-granddaughter, Aria Vasquez; and her best friend, Shirley Hankins.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville, Virginia. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 PM, with Pastor David Deisher officiating. A burial of her ashes will be held at a later date.
