Linda Faye Scearce Brewer

Linda Faye Scearce Brewer, 80, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 10th, 2023. Born to Sydney Jackson Scearce and Leila Parrish Scearce on October 9, 1942 in Danville, VA.

Linda was a member of Third Avenue Church and graduated from George Washington High School in 1960. She worked at Peoples’s Drug Store as an assistant manager and cared for many children in her home after leaving People’s. She enjoyed going to church and was very involved in AWANA’s for over ten years. She loved working with the youth in the church and teaching them to love and serve Christ.

On October 7, 1967 she married Leonard “Len” Ottis Brewer, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2004. Len was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Len’s twenty one years serving our country allowed the family to live in many states across the country. Len and Linda both rejoiced when they were able to return to her hometown of Danville after his retirement.

Linda is survived by her daughter; Pamela Lance of Danville, son; Lee Brewer and wife Monica of Shenandoah, VA., grandchildren; Robert Brewer, Joshua Hutcherson, Samuel Hutcherson, Nathaniel Brewer, Abby Brewer and Madilyn Brewer, great-grandchildren; Savannah Hutcherson, Kiersten Hutcherson, Zachary Brewer, Ellayna Hutcherson, Brantley Hutcherson.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; Sydney Jackson Scearce and Lelia Parrish Scearce, brothers; Buford Scearce, Leland Scearce, Marvin Scearce, Harold Scearce, Wayne Scearce, sisters; Thelma Adkins, Frances Bass and Cathryn Trent.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00PM at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.
