Linda Hall Shelton

Linda Hall Shelton, age 78 passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born June 8, 1947 to the late Kathleen Mae Wood Hall and the late Wallace Belvine Hall. She was married to the late James Lester Shelton, Jr.

She attended church at the Salvation Army, and also Rivermont Baptist Church. She graduated from the Artistic Beauty College in Danville and worked at Park View Skating Rink and Skate-Town. She found great joy in volunteering at Helping Hands Thrift Store, The Salvation Army, and also God’s Pit Crew, but most of all, she devoted her life to taking care of her granddaughter, Ashley Matney.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy S. Chaney; grandchildren, Ashley Matney, Nicholas Chaney, Sallie Chaney, and Emilie Chaney, several great grandchildren; and her sister, Cathy Shaw.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved son, Mark Shelton.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 6:00 p.m. at Blairs Baptist Church with Pastor John Lester officiating.

The family will be receiving friends and family at the residence of her daughter, Tammy Chaney.
