Linda Mae Jessup

Mrs. Linda Mae Bennett Jessup, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Rose Tara Senior Living in King. She was born in Surry County on March 16, 1943, to the late Willie and Vena Johnson Bennett. Mrs. Jessup retired from Surry Veterans Services and was a member of Field of Grace Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends. Linda loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, and now she is with him and her husband James who went to heaven January 28, 2024. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Milford Sawyers; a son and daughter-in-law, James Mitchell and Sherrie Jessup; grandchildren, Ryne Jessup, Jennifer Pardue and husband Tyler, Shannon Johnson and husband Daniel, Kalyn Karpenko and husband Ken; great grandchildren, Emalyn Johnson, Jack Karpenko, Abel Johnson, Mac Henry Johnson, Asher Pardue, Isaac Pardue. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by her husband, James Matthew Jessup, Jr.; a sister, Faye Webb A funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
