Linda Martin Perkins
Linda Joyce Martin Perkins passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 80 in Goldbond, Virginia. Born on March 5, 1945, in Pearisburg, Virginia, Linda's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of nurturing both family and nature.
Linda's early years in Pearisburg were filled with the simple pleasures of rural life, which she carried into her adulthood. After marrying the love of her life, Charles Courtland Perkins, she dedicated herself to creating a home that was a sanctuary of love and laughter. Linda found her calling as a homemaker, a role she cherished.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles, and their loving children, Lisa Lynn Johnson of Pearisburg, VA, and Charles Scott Perkins of Goldbond, VA. Linda was the proud grandmother to Daphne Daugherty (Phillip) of Goldbond, Marcus Reed (Ashley) of Pearisburg, and her beloved trio Logan, Cameron (and his family), and Austin Perkins of Staffordsville. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Holly and Caleb Reed of Pearisburg, and Noah Daugherty of Goldbond. Linda's legacy of love and care is also carried on by her siblings, Jimmy Lowe Martin (Dolly) of Goldbond, Carl Kermit Martin of Christiansburg, and Bonnie Sue Robertson of Dublin, Virginia.
Her life was rich with the bonds of family, a circle that extended to include her nieces, nephews, and their families, who will miss her dearly. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Maldie Mae Neice Martin, and her siblings, Marie Snydow (Albert), Lilly Mae Neice (Budd), Susie Merrix (Ken), Gladys Shaver (Raymond), Juanita Lovern (Roy), Agatha Saunders (Winford), Curtis Martin (Joyce), and Junior Martin (Maddie), as well as her brother-in-law, Skeeter Robertson.
Linda's home was her canvas, and her gardens were her masterpiece. She cultivated beauty through her love of flowers, spending countless hours tending to her plants and ensuring that her home was surrounded by the splendor of nature. Her gardens were a reflection of her inner grace and served as a haven for the birds she adored feeding. Linda's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to every living thing she encountered, and her yard was a testament to her dedication and care. Linda's passion for gardening was matched only by her love for her family.
