Linda Overton Janney

Linda Overton Janney, 80, of Collinsville, Va. passed away Monday, June 17, 2024. She was born January 8, 1944 in Henry County to Samuel Jackson Overton and Virginia Haley Overton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ferguson and Dorkus Upton; and brother, R. J. Overton.She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Headly E. Janney; daughter Tammy Liston (Randy); son, Samuel Janney; brother, David Overton (Betty); sister, Kay Overton; grandchildren, Johnny Walker (Megan), Joshua Walker, Sarah Liston (Nick), Clayton Liston (Kayla); great grandchildren, Maddox Smith, Evelyn Boughton, Nick Boughton, Olive Boughton, Sawyer Liston; brothers-in-law, Roy Janey and John Janney (Donna); sister-in-law, Hannah Janney.Linda was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church. She loved working in her yard and garden. She also liked crocheting and going to the beach. She loved cooking meals and entertaining her family and friends on special events. She could bake a “mean cake”. Most of all she cared for people.A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am and will be officiated by Minister Tim Wood.
