Linwood Allen Harlow

Linwood Harlow, 96, of Salem, went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 4, 2023.

He was born on February 23, 1927 to Angus and Hettie Harlow. Linwood was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Supinger Harlow, 4 brothers, 6 sisters, and 1 son-in-law.

Linwood was a World War II veteran. He worked for N&W and Norfolk Southern railroad and retired in 1985, after over 45 years of service.

He was a member of Edgewood Christian Church in Roanoke.

He loved to hunt and fly fish and would ride his bike with his grandchildren and occasionally ride it backwards.

He is survived by 6 children, Patsy Pack (Buddy), Charles Harlow (Brenda), Jeanie Stump (Tony), Scott Harlow (Cindy), Lynn Thompson and Katie Harlow; 10 grandchildren, Stacey Fleischmann (John), April Whipple (Scott), Leslie Suttles, Elisa Wood, Kelly Markle (Jason), Katie Collins (Justin), Sarah Merrill (Mike), Lauren Peters (Brandon), Chris Warren (Michelle), Nicole Warren; 17 great-grandchildren, Alice, Ruby, Tucker (Brittany), Haley, Ethan, Charlotte, Jordyn (Cody), Olivia, Luke, MJ, Haley, Chloe, Bryce, Abigail, Peyton, Adelyn, and Oliver; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Savannah.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Edgewood Christian Church 1006 Peck St NW, Roanoke VA 24017, officiated by Ministers, Larry Atkin and Ken Runyon. The family will receive family and friends at 10:30am - 12pm. The service will begin at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edgewood Christian Church.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their wonderful care for our dad and the support for our family, especially his nurse Clara.
