Liza Robinson Hart
Liza Robinson Hart, 60, of Salem, VA passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024.
Born and raised in Asheville, NC, she graduated Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC and went on to enjoy a successful career in marketing. Realizing a dream of living and working in New York City, Liza worked for several advertising agencies in New York. In her career, she handled the accounts of a number of multinational and national clients.
Liza moved back to Asheville in 1990 in order to care for her ailing mother. She subsequently worked in various marketing roles in Asheville and Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Zebulon (ZB) and Barbara Robinson. She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 33 years, Nick Hart; her cousins, Anne Harvey and Debbie Bryant; scores of friends throughout the country and overseas; and a veritable army of friends (considered more appropriately as “family”) in the Roanoke Valley who have provided unflinching support to Liza and her family over the course of her illness.
Liza was known as someone who gave and received love willingly and wholeheartedly. Everyone who knew her was inspired by her positivity and grace, particularly in confronting multiple sclerosis and, most recently, cancer.
Very special thanks go to the ICU and palliative care nurses at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice of Roanoke, VA, all of whom provided the most compassionate care imaginable. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice (www.goodsam.care). The funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Wednesday, July 17 at 2:00 pm, presided by The Rev. Alexander MacPhail.
