Lois French

Lois French Lois Romaine Lambert French, 93, of Narrows, VA., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.  Lois was born on May 29, 1932, in Giles County, VA., and was a daughter of the late Hobart Johnson Lambert and Stella Gray Bailey.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Edward French, 2 brothers, Harold Lambert, Richard Lambert and 1 sister, Marlene Palmer.

Lois was a very loving mother, who always loved her boys.  She taught her sons to be kind and hard-working men, but also to have time for the simple things in life that bring them joy.  They always had Sunday dinners, where she always enjoyed cooking for all of them.  She and Arnold, both taught them that God was most important.  Lois was a member of Cedar Grove Church of Christ in Narrows, where she had many friends.  She was very fond of Jack and Georgia Jones.  Even when Lois was not able to attend Church, she always read her Bible and listened to preaching and took her communion.  Lois was a very big part of her grandchildren’s lives.  They all loved her very much.  When she started feeling bad, she would tell us all she had lived too long.  Now she will live forever with her heavenly father and Arnold with no pain with a smile on her face seeing God and all her loved ones.  Now she can walk hand in hand with Arnold forever and a day.  Lois wishes to be cremated.   

She is survived by 2 sons, Juddie Michael French, Jamie Keith French (Crystal), both of Narrows, 1 grandson, Adam Edward French (Heather) of Pembroke and 3 great grandchildren, Cody French (Hannah) of Pembroke, Talia Brooks (Brenten) of Bluefield, VA, Michael David French,  2 great great grandchildren, Owen and Ollie French, 1 sister, Barbara Wright (Harry) of Bluefield, WV, brother-in-law, Dickey French of Rich Creek and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service, from 1-2 pm.  There will be a private family burial at a later date.
