Lois Gibson Evers

Lois Gibson Evers, 89 of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, with family by her side.

She was born on August 6, 1936 in Franklin County, Virginia, daughter of the late Clarence & Minnie Gibson.

She retired from General Electric with 42 years of service. After she retired she was on the credit union board and did audits, she handled the quarter century dinner and dance, she loved organizing bus trips as well as going on them, she loved shopping, NASCAR races, reading and going out to eat. Her grandson Derrike, was the love of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M Evers Jr., a brother Wesley Gibson and two sisters Esther Hartman and Carrie Weddle.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Gwendolyn S Evers (Mike) and Cheryl Peters, a grandson, Derrike Hagy (Ashley) as well as three great grandchildren, Jayden Hagy, Brayden Hagy and Brooklyn Hagy, two nephews Calvin and Clarence Weddle, great niece Caryn King (Kevin).

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 11:50 am on Wednesday September 10, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5731 Airport Rd NW, Roanoke, VA where a service will be held at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Nelson Harris. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
