Lois Mae Scott

Lois Mae Scott, 84, of Bedford, passed away from her earthly life to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 15, 2026. She was born on September 28, 1941, to the late Rufus Rollin Wheeler and Elizabeth Stevens Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest M. Scott and Joseph P. Bowden; daughter Deborah (Debbie) S. Zimmerman; sister Faye W. Martin; and son-in-law Kevin R. Overstreet. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia (Cindy) S. Wells (Robert) and Tina S. Overstreet; sister Marie W. Morris (Lewis); brother Richard (Ricky) R. Wheeler (Karen); grandchildren Mitchell L. Scott (Megan), Emilee W. Young (Julian), Robert (Trey) L. Wells III (Rosetta), and Gage J. Overstreet; great grandchildren Robert M. Scott, Oakley R. Overstreet, and Wells S. Young; and son-in-law James (Jimmy) Zimmerman.

Lois touched the lives of everyone around her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. She was an excellent seamstress, caring mother, and reliable neighbor. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Her strength and compassion guided generations, and her gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
