Lois Paitsel
Lois Ann Ensminger Paitsel, age 89, of 1428 S. Howard Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge.
Lois was born on January 11, 1934 in New Freeport, Pennsylvania to the late Nicholas Ruben Ensminger and Margaret Weeks Ensminger. She was a retired clerk for the Kroger Company, and was a founding member of the Covington Church of Christ. She graduated from Wheeling High School in Wheeling, West Virginia and later attended the Blue Ridge College of Evangelism at First Christian Church in Covington, which they attended.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Jones, and two granddaughters, Alyssa Thomas and Kimberly Wilcher.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ray Clayton Paitsel of Covington; three daughters, Patricia L. Taylor and husband John of Sulphur Springs, TX, Linda Jones and husband Benney of Buena Vista, and Laura Campbell and husband Jay of Covington; a son, David Paitsel and wife Carol of Millersville, PA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a special niece, Margaret “Sissy” Sprouse.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the cemetery.
