Lola Belle Jones Hughes

Lola Hughes, age 96, of Bristol, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Roanoke, VA. She was born on October 17, 1928 to the late George and Frances Johnson Jones.

Lola lived most of her life in Bristol and retired from Strongwell in 1998. She enjoyed retirement by attending Slater Community Center until 2020. She loved to dance, travel, and be with family, as well as front porch sitting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Abe Cutsinger, Mary Jones, Clint Jones, Bill Jones, and Joe Jones; sons-in-law, Ricky Hartman and Billy Shepperd.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Frances Hartman, Linda Shepperd, Angela Adams and her husband William “Pee Wee”; grandchildren, Ronnie Crowder, Jr., Hank Shepperd, Jeannie Lavasser and her husband Allen, Travis Shepperd and his wife Summer, Heather Davis and her husband Tim, Amanda Adams and her fiancé Allen, Trey Adams and his fiancé Holly; as well as multiple great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and a special nephew, Abe Cutsinger “Butch” and his wife Connie.
