Lonnie Clay Wilson

Lonnie Clay Wilson, 88, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on January 19, 1936, to the late Rona Wilson and Annie Eunice Mitchell Wilson, in Henry County, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen “Lynn” Steele Wilson; sisters, Sue Denny and Clara Fulcher; and brothers, Larry Wilson and Robert Wilson.

Lonnie served in both the United States Army and the United States Navy. Later in life, he worked as a machine operator for Goodyear Industrial. He was a member and faithful attendee of Chatham Height Baptist Church.

Lonnie is survived by his daughter, Ann C. Wilson (Krista Wuertz); son, John C. Wilson (Eric Diesel); grandchildren, Aiden Wilson-Wuertz and Rylan Wilson-Wuertz; sister, Nancy Wilson; brothers, Marvin Wilson and David Wilson; and his longtime companion, Carolyn Holland.
