Lonnie Lee Hodges

Lonnie Lee Hodges, 91, of Collinsville, VA passed away Monday, June 26, 2023. He was born May 28, 1932 in Bassett, VA to the late Fitz Lee Hodges and Effie Mae Hale Hodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rose Maria Bourgea Hodges; companion of 16 years, Ruby Kelly; son, Lonnie Lee Hodges, Jr.; sister, Aileen Arden; and brothers, Herman “Hunky” Hodges and Gary Hodges.

Mr. Hodges attended school in Bassett and worked for Roy Stone Transfer, R.P. Thomas, and retired from Warren Trucking.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Schafer (Bruce) and Michelle Hodges; grandson, Kevin Schafer (Caitlin); great-grandchildren, Anson, and Cormac Schafer; and sisters, Avis Gilley, and Marie Stone (Bernard).

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Pastor David Deisher will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park after the funeral service.

The family is grateful to the staff of Mulberry Creek Assisted Living, Mountain Valley Hospice, and CCU of Sovah Martinsville for all their care they provided for Lonnie.
