Lonnie Wade Wilson

Lonnie Wade Wilson, 81, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024. He was born March 2, 1943, in Eskdale, West Virginia, to the late Marvin Vance and Rosa Lee Mitchell Wilson.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dena Evans Wilson and brothers, Robert Lee Wilson, Jessie Lee Wilson, and Rudolph “Peewee” Walker, Jr.Lonnie proudly served his Country in the United States Army and five years in the National Guard. He was of the Catholic faith and was a quiet person who kept to himself. Lonnie was very family oriented and loved his children dearly. He loved to cook and enjoyed talking about the “old days”. Lonnie was a hard worker and a great man. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.He is survived by daughters, Thana Evans, Vishanna Lee, Quamyra Story, and Cathirine Wilson; sons, Robert Wilson, Howard Barrett, Terry Barrett, William Story, Joseph Evans, and Lonnie Wilson, Jr.; sister, Clara Brown; twenty-five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
