Lonnie William Martin

Lonnie William Martin Sr., 55, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, February 7, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1969, to Joan Martin and the late Clyde William Martin. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Ann Martin and brother, Chad Martin.

Lonnie worked at and managed Walsh’s Chicken for many years. He and his family faithfully attended Chatmoss Baptist Church for many years until most recently, attending Osborne Baptist Church. Throughout the years, they held the church, and its members close to their hearts. Lonnie was a devoted follower of Christ, husband, father, and “Poppi.”

Lonnie leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, wife of 34 years, Sheila Meeks Martin; daughter, Kayla Hope Martin; son, Lonnie “Will” William Martin Jr. and wife Malissa; two grandsons, Braxton and Hunter; brother, Ronnie Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and one uncle.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at Norris Funeral Service in Martinsville. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville. A burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
