Lorene Mae Mounce Newman

Mrs. Lorene Mae Mounce Newman, age 74, of State Road, NC passed away on Friday morning November 3, 2023, at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born in Surry County on May 26, 1949, to the late Carmel Vance Mounce and the late Alma Mae Hardy Mounce. She retired from Phillips Van Heusen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Keena Whitaker; sister, Senia Mounce Hall; brother, Carlie Mounce. Surviving is her Husband Donald George Newman; sons and daughter-in-law, Bradley Fletcher Newman and wife Melissa Graham Newman; grandchildren, Austin Bradley Newman, Josh Shinault, Andrew Shinault; nieces Patricia Ann Bowers, Tonya Butler and nephew Jeff Mounce. A memorial serservice will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church , State Road on Saturday Novmber 11th at 2:00 PM. There will be no formal services held at the funeral home. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Newman family.
