Lorraine Patricia Ulrich Vaughan

November 30, 1946 - May 11, 2024

Lorraine Patricia Ulrich Vaughan, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on May 11, 2024 with her family by her side after suffering complications from surgery.   She was born on November 30, 1946 and attended J.W. Hallahan Catholic Girls School in Philadelphia.  Her Hallahan classmates were very special to her and she stayed in touch with them regularly.

Lorraine was employed by Super-X pharmacy and later CVS for many years.  She retired when she turned 65 “on the first day I possibly can” as she was looking forward to enjoying her golden years spending time with family and doing volunteer work.  Upon retirement, she worked at Good Samaritan Hospice, first in the office and later as a doula as she sat with those who were very sick and transitioning to the afterlife.

Lorraine was particular and had a feisty spirit but her large family meant the world to her.  She was very loving and caring and you could not leave her house without her giving you something whether it be an item of clothing, food or something she found on sale for a particular family member.  She was extremely generous.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren made her so very happy and she adored her three newest great grandbabies, a set of twins and a great granddaughter who were born two days apart last year.  They gave her immense joy.  Her first great grandchild, Anthony, was the love of her life and she rallied and prayed for him consistently during his time of medical need.  She had a very strong faith.

She is predeceased by her husband, Reginald “Sonny” Vaughan, her parents, Harry Joseph Ulrich, Sr. and Margaret Ulrich Murray and her brother John Murray.   Surviving are her daughter, Dawn (Leigh) Plymale, daughter Patricia (Thomas) Clayton, daughter Pamela Macintosh,  daughter Jodie Moore (Chris Widener) and her stepson Yancey (Angie) Vaughan.  She is also survived by her sister Margaret Lester, brother Harry “Skeets” (Kathleen) Ulrich, Jr., sister Joann Murray, brother Joseph Murray and grandchildren, Kelsey Macintosh (Shane Franklin), Nicholas Plymale (Nicole Robinson) , Nathan Plymale, Evan (Savannah) Hill, Kyle Hill (Ebony Roberson), Holly Wilkes (Sam Mummau), her step-grandchildren Jozeph “Frankie” Dennis, Kayla (Samuel) Myers, Chance Taylor (Chasity Coleman), Katelyn (Trevor) Campbell, her great-grandchildren Anthony, Henry and Vivian Franklin and Ava Roberson-Hill and step great-granddaughters Nova Bailey and Alayna Taylor, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem at on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m with family friend Steve (Deet) Reed officiating.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park
