Lowell T. Spencer

Lowell T. Spencer, II, age 52, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away at his home on September 3, 2023, of natural causes. He was born in Henry County on October 16, 1970, to Lowell T. Spencer, I, and Arlene F. Spencer.

Lowell was a graduate of Bassett High School, where he played the trombone in the Bassett High School Marching Band. He also won the Semper Fidelis award for his musical excellence. He also graduated from Patrick Henry Community College, and he attended George Mason University for 2 years.

Lowell worked as a computer programmer for Niacom, Pluma, and Sara Lee for about 7 years until his illness made it impossible to continue working in the profession that he loved.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Arlene F. Spencer, and his sister, Cheryl L. Spencer, of Norfolk, Virginia, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lowell was preceded in death by his father, Lowell T. Spencer I; his maternal grandparents, Geneva Foley and Thelmer Foley; and his paternal grandparents, Liss Spencer and Elizabeth Stone Spencer.

The funeral service will be Friday, September 8, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel in Bassett. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.
