Lowell Thomas Roberts

Lowell Thomas Roberts, 89, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born January 5, 1934, in Ridgeway, Virginia, to the late Sanford Roberts and Ethel Thomas Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Williams Roberts; son, Timothy Lee Roberts; sisters, Mary Frances and Henrietta; and brothers, Sanford Roberts, Price Roberts, Ronnie Roberts, and Jesse Roberts. Lowell was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church and loved his work in the ministry as a Deacon. He was owner/operator of Sanwell Printing Company. He was a member of the Martinsville J.C. Rotary Club and Lions Club. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Lowell resided with his grandson (caretaker), Timothy Roberts, at his home in Bassett, Virginia. He is survived by his son, Keith Roberts (George-Ann); sisters, Cornelia Steele, Kay Scougal, Carol Ann White, and Johnsie Oddinno; brother-in-law, Bud Williams; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Findley; and grandchildren, Link Shaw, Quin Shaw, Jessica Roberts Letourneau, Ashley Roberts, Caitlin Roberts, and Timothy Roberts. The Memorial Service will be Friday, February 17, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Kyle Uselton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is handling arrangements.
