Lucille Mattox Woodford

Lucille Mattox Woodford, 76 of Huddleston, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at her residence. She was born on Wednesday, November 6, 1946 in Altavista, VA, a daughter of the late Ryland Mattox and Margaret Sandridge Carter Mattox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lane Woodford.

She was retired from BGF Industries, was a member of Mentow Baptist Church since 1967 and in earlier years sung in the choir and taught Sunday School.

She is survived by a sister, Shirley Gregg; her nephew, David Gregg; brother-in-law, Lynwood Woodford (Betty); many other nieces and nephews as well as her special caregiver, Pearl Burdette.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Mentow Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM with Rev. Rick Foster and Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
