Luther Lee Bowyer, Jr.

Luther Lee Bowyer, 66, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2020.

It was no secret to anyone that Luther loved anything and everything that had to do with farming. A true country boy at heart, he was not afraid of hard work or getting a little dirt on his clothes. The phrase “you aren’t dressed without a little mud on your jeans” was a true definition of Luther and his work ethic. A devout Christian man, who did his best to never miss a Sunday service, he and his family have been members of Beacon Baptist Church for over fourteen years. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him and leaves behind a legacy of love for all people for his family and friends to carry on.

Luther is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Sr., and Rebecca Bowyer.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 33 years, Donna Bowyer; daughters, Christy Martin, and Robin Hall (Don Madden); sister, Edna Speiburg (William); grandchildren, C.J. Harris, Issys Madden, Zachary Bowyer, Sydney, and Colby Martin; also left to cherish his memory are two great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Beacon Baptist Church in Salem. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the sanctuary.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Securitas Security Services for all the love and support that has been shown to them during this time of sadness.
