Luther Lenwood Redd

Luther L. Redd, Sr., 67, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2024. He was born February 13, 1957, to Edd Redd and Hattie Johnson Redd.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Luther L. Redd, Jr.; sisters, Queen West, Everleen Hairston, Johnsie Redd, and Blanche Menefee; brothers, Robert Redd, Frank Redd, Sandy Redd, and John Redd.Luther was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed music, loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.He is survived by his son, Orlando Gravely (Semekia); sisters, Frances Mullins (Clyde), Leola Pilson, and Vernon Easley; brothers, Melvin Redd and Larry Redd (Wanona); grandchildren, Aubree Redd, Laylah Redd, Grace Gravely, Taylor Gravely.The funeral will be Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Reverand Harold Carelock officiating. Burial will follow at Redd Cemetery at 1073 Mariah Drive, Fieldale, Virginia 24089. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.The family will receive friends and family Saturday, June 15 through Monday, June 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the home of Leola Pilson, 1317 Chatham Heights Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
