Marcia Lynn Lawson

Marcia Lynn Cleary Lawson, 81, of Ridgeway, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Martinsville Health and Rehab. She was born March 6, 1943, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late William Flake Cleary and Nancy Eljatha Mecum Cleary.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burnette Lawson; brothers, James J. “Jimmy” Cleary, and William “Billy” Cleary.Marcia was of the Methodist faith, was a dedicated employee, and retired after more than thirty years as an office manager with Central Storage. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, her favorite being Tony Stewart, and watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers. She loved to travel and fell in love with Maine. She loved to go shopping, eat out at her favorite restaurant “Chaneys”, and carved her days around watching the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Marcia loved getting “dolled” up and making sure she had on the perfect outfit. She always had a twinkle in her eye. Marcia never met a stranger and always had the best laugh.Marcia is survived by her sister, Nancy Patricia Morrison; sister-in-law, Sylvia Cleary; brother, Robert Cleary (Carolyn); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
