Margaret Ann Dickerson

Margaret Ann Dickerson, 87 of Mechanicsville, VA and formerly of Pearisburg, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening, August 14, 2023.

Margaret was born in and spent most of her life in Giles County. She was an alumnus of the historic Christiansburg Institute. Margaret worked for and retired from the Celco Plant in Narrows, Virginia. She was a proud and faithful member of The First Baptist Church of Pembroke where she served on various ministries. Her most noted was the director of the choir, The Christian Jubilees. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and going on trips with the Red Hatters.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold H Dickerson, Sr.; son, Arnold H Dickerson II; mother, Mabel Wilson; and two sisters, Helen James and Retha Hoston.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Drema King (Greg) of Mechanicsville, Virginia; granddaughters, Hillary Smith (Jordan) of Huntertown, Indiana, and Mikayla King of Sandston, VA; three great-grandsons, Troy Smith, Kelvin Smith, and Lennox Chapman; a special nephew, Rev. David Chapman; two faithful nieces, Brenda Johnson, and Shirley Johnson; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends, including her special friends, Evelyn Pearson and Bobby Leece.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM at The First Baptist Church in Pembroke, VA with Reverend David Chapman officiating. Funeral services will conclude in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in The First Baptist Church in Pembroke.
