Margaret Gibson Loyd

Margaret Gibson Loyd, 82, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on April 5, 1943 to the late Jack C. Gibson and Evelyn Simmons Gibson Young. Margaret was a homemaker and was also the bookkeeper for Loyd’s Grading, Inc. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed NASCAR - especially Richard Petty -and was an avid football fan.

Margaret is survived by her children, Melissa Loyd Anderson (Darien) and Charles Kevin Loyd (Margarita); grandchildren: Zachary (Helen) and Bradley; step-grandchildren: Caterine, Nuria and Heriberto; step-great grandchildren: Isabella, Julianna, Pablo, Juliette, Aida and Julian; a brother, Robert Young, Sr.; a half sister, Paula Ellis; and a host of other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Loyd, Jr. (“Buddy”); brother, Jimmy Gibson and sister, Pamela Young Wheeling.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike in Culpeper, VA and a funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons. Interment will be held on Monday, October 27 at 2 p.m. at Daleville Cemetery, 945 Roanoke Roadin Daleville, VA.
