Margaret Lucille Spencer

Margaret Lucille Spencer, 91, of Patrick Springs, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at her home. She was born June 9, 1931, in Virginia to the late Henry Letcher Bocock and Bessie Odessa Ratcliff Bocock.

Margaret was a member of Valley Drive Baptist Church, where she was a beloved member of the choir and various women’s groups. She enjoyed bowling, doll collecting and loved to travel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lawrence Spencer; sisters, Nora O’dell, Christine Caudill, Pauline Kendrick, Cleo Bell, Robbie Jean Eychaner; brothers, James Bocock, Richard Bocock, Leon Bocock, and Edward Bocock.

She is survived by her daughter, Freda Gilmer (Michael); sons, Jerry Spencer, Roger Spencer (Kim), Dean Spencer (Gail), and Elvis Spencer; one sister, Delphine Rakes (Rev. Bobby Rakes); nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 19, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at Valley Drive Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Rakes officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
