Margaret Marie Ayers

Margaret Marie Moorman Ayers, 54, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2025 at her home with her family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Windsor Moorman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a husband, Henry Roberts; sisters, Elizabeth M. Willett, Katherine E. Stahley, Audrey R. Mercer; brothers, Richard C. Moorman, and Charles E. Moorman.

She came from a large family and her family meant everything to her. She loved them all, but she adored her grandchildren more than anything. Margaret loved the Lord and made sure of her salvation on November 16, 2025.

She is survived by her children, Sarah E. Goodman and her husband Steven, Calvin P. Herndon and his wife Savannah; grandchildren, Kaidenn, Xavier, Sayvion, Adelynn, Brayden, Makenna, and Peyton; siblings, Rose M. Montgomery, Cecelia G. Hayhoe, Barbara J. Smith, Lucinda I. Plummer, Mary E. Gould and her husband Max, Patricia L. Fugate and her husband Craig; former husband, Donald Ayers; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Pastor Dean Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
