Margaret N. Salyers

With a tremendous feeling of loss, the family of Margaret N. Salyers would like to announce that she was called home to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 7, 2025. She left us far too soon but passed away peacefully at home at God’s perfect time, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Neely, her uncle Robert Wolfenbarger (wife Irene), and Aunts, Rachel Wolfenbarger and Margaret Coley. She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Manetta, Mary Grayson Reed (husband Bryan), Rachel Taylor (fiancée Lee Huffman), as well as her brother Robert (wife Peggy), and nephews, Dan and Matthew (wife Amy) and their families. Her grandchildren include Timothy Manetta (wife Morgan), Zak Manetta (wife Sammy), Alexandra Gayle Reed, Dylan Dooley, Spencer Bryan Reed, Ryan Dooley, and Ashley Grace Reed. She has one great grandson, Wyatt Manetta.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice, particularly Ariana and Chasity, who gave their time and talents to support Mother, as well as Dr. Schleupner and Dr. Pierce who provided excellent care and compassion throughout Mother’s journey.

Mother, you will be forever missed, but we will carry your memory in our hearts always. Until we meet again in heaven, eternal rest grant unto you, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon you. “Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” John 11 vs. 25-26.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem from 4:00 until 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Catholic Church, Roanoke, VA, at 12 noon followed by a graveside service at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, VA at 2:30 pm.
