Margaret Owens Willis

Margaret Owens Willis, 70, passed away on June 8, 2023. She was born on July 6, 1952 in Bedford County, VA to the late Lucille Wright King and the late Walter Wallace Owen. She was also predeceased by her husband, Tony Remi Willis Sr.

Margaret was a member of Third Avenue Christian Church. She worked at Dan River Mills, Inc. in two dress as a warper operator prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her sons; Tony R. Willis Jr. (Amy) of Chatham, VA., James Vaughan (Terri Lane) of Chatham, VA., brothers; Robert Owens, Wayne Owens, Tommy Owens, Melvin Owens, sisters; Mary Jane Hampton, Connie Owens, Wanda Vernon, grandchildren; Tyler Vaughan, Hunter Vaughan, Jacob Willis, great-grandchildren; Autumn Layne, Emmitt George, Kolton Vaughan, and her longtime boyfriend; Andrew Walton Jr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers; Raymond Owens, Johnny Owens and granddaughter; Brittany Poole.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will be at the residence of her son; Tony Willis.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00AM at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. Intombment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Blairs Volunteer Fire Department.
